Project overview

Responding to the rapid population growth in the Doon South community of Kitchener, the Waterloo Region District School Board has introduced Oak Creek Public School, a new educational facility. The school accommodates approximately 600 students from junior kindergarten to Grade 8, and will also house a new child care centre and a community centre operated by the City of Kitchener. This addition marks a significant investment in educational and community infrastructure for the growing neighbourhood.

MTE's Involvement

MTE began its involvement by conducting a site survey to support the planning and development process. Our civil engineering team then took the lead on designing the site grading and servicing plans, along with a detailed stormwater management strategy. The civil design covered the full scope of the site, including the school building, childcare centre, community centre, parking areas, soccer field, and landscaped spaces.

In parallel, our structural engineering team was engaged in designing the two-storey school building. With construction now complete, Oak Creek Public School is ready to welcome students for the 2022/2023 school year, providing a modern and inclusive learning environment for the community.
