Kurt will join Wayne Kassian, P.Eng., M.Sc., Principal at Kassian Dyck & Associates, to deliver a session focused on precast concrete design and its role in modern construction. Drawing on his extensive experience in multidisciplinary project delivery, Kurt will share insights on the effective integration of precast systems within coordinated building designs and the importance of collaboration among project stakeholders.
The webinar will provide attendees with an overview of key considerations related to the design, detailing, and application of precast concrete systems, including:
- Applicable codes and standards governing precast concrete systems
- Seismic design principles, including CSA A23.3 provisions and R-factors
- Connection design, diaphragm action, and integrity steel considerations
- Practical precast panel design and detailing challenges
- The Engineer of Record’s role in coordinating structural intent with architectural and building systems requirements
