MTE Consultants is proud to participate in the Flowing Futures River Clinic, a collaborative design challenge held as part of Stratford’s Provocation Ideas Festival.
The initiative will bring together students, engineers, planners, designers, environmental professionals, community leaders, and innovators to explore new possibilities for the future of Stratford’s Avon River.
MTE’s Environmental Team members will contribute technical insight and engineering perspectives to discussions focused on sustainable waterfront development, ecological resilience, and the integration of public spaces along the river corridor.
MTE’s Director of Marketing, Amy Furtado, talked about MTE’s organizational roots in Stratford and, because of that connection, they care deeply about the long-term health and sustainability of the Avon and its role in the community.
“The river is a defining environmental, cultural and recreational asset that contributes significantly to Stratford’s identity and quality of life, and partnering with PIF on this event is an opportunity for us to support meaningful community conversations about the future of the river while helping educate and inspire the next generation of environmental leaders,” she said. “As a firm, we strongly believe in investing in education, mentorship and hands-on learning opportunities for students. Through initiatives like this, we can share our expertise, encourage new perspectives and help participants better understand both the opportunities and challenges facing the Avon River and its ecosystem.”
The concepts generated during the River Clinic will help inform ongoing discussions about Stratford’s waterfront and the role the Avon River can play in supporting environmental stewardship, community well-being, and economic vitality.
