MTE's Involvement
MTE provided environmental drilling services to support the Phase II ESA. The scope of work included the advancement of boreholes and installation of groundwater monitoring wells to assess subsurface soil and groundwater conditions.
The investigation required deep drilling, with boreholes extending to approximately 80 feet below ground surface. These deeper depths were necessary to reach the groundwater table in this area of Cambridge.
Fieldwork was completed under challenging conditions, including working within a high-traffic commercial plaza while maintaining safe access for businesses, vehicles, and pedestrians. Additional logistical considerations included coordinating drilling activities around active infrastructure associated with the gas station and plaza tenants.
MTE successfully executed the field program while maintaining public health and safety and minimizing disruption to site operations. The analytical data supported a understanding of subsurface conditions for due diligence purposes.
