News: Expanding into Eastern Ontario through the acquisition of Fishburn Sheridan & Associates
This project aimed to develop a 21,000 ft² building that connected the existing Student Life Centre and Physical Activities Complex, creating a unified Student Life facility. The expansion included features such as a climbing wall, studio space, dining areas, study zones, social and multi-faith spaces, a Graduate Student Association lounge, and a link to the Math and Computers building, among others. The building was designed to provide inviting indoor and outdoor spaces for students, with a strong emphasis on sustainability throughout its construction.
MTE was responsible for civil engineering design, which included site grading, servicing, stormwater management, and the inspection of civil works during construction. The MTE team collaborated closely with the project’s architect and other consultants to ensure seamless coordination throughout the design process. This collaborative effort was essential for obtaining necessary approvals and ultimately delivering a well-designed facility.
