Birchmount Green Condominiums

Project overview

The Birchmount Green Condominium, situated at 1236 Birchmount Road, Scarborough, is a newly developed project by Birchmount Green Inc. This initiative is designed to cater to low- and moderate-income households, providing 220 new rental homes that include a mix of affordable and supportive housing options.

Tenant selection for Birchmount Green will be conducted in collaboration with not-for-profit referral partners, who will facilitate the placement of individuals into 98 units equipped with various support services. Of these, 88 units will be available as rent-geared-to-income (RGI) housing, with rents capped at 30 percent of the household’s income. The remaining 10 units will be offered at average market rent (AMR), as defined annually by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.

The remaining 122 units will have rents set at or below 100 percent of AMR, ensuring affordability for a range of low- to moderate-income households.

The Birchmount Green development features the following amenities:

• A spacious amenity room with access to outdoor greenery and barbecue facilities
• An accessible rooftop garden, a library, indoor and outdoor children’s play areas, and bicycle storage
• Offices for support service organizations
• An on-site coffee shop, “The Social Brew, Café, and Marketplace”
