Project overview

McMaster Innovation Park (MIP) is a dynamic 3-phase development situated on former industrial lands along Longwood Road in Hamilton, Ontario. This hub encompasses a diverse mix of office, institutional, residential, hotel, retail, and industrial buildings.  

MIP stands as one of Canada’s premier research and innovation facilities, dedicated to nurturing startups, fostering business growth, and advancing research. Serving as a vital link between academia and industry, MIP supports researchers with commercial ambitions and empowers students and entrepreneurs through incubator and accelerator programs. By leveraging the technical expertise of McMaster University and other academic institutions, MIP plays a pivotal role in Hamilton’s thriving innovation ecosystem, offering resources to support professional journeys.  

Currently, MIP is home to several key facilities including the Atrium @MIP, CanmetMATERIALS (Natural Resources Canada), the McMaster Automotive Resource Centre (MARC), the Glass Warehouse @MIP, the Gowling WLG @MIP, the Hamilton Spectator @MIP, and the Biomedical Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing (BEAM) project center. With ambitious plans for expansion, MIP envisions accommodating up to 1,800 full-time professionals across 10 buildings within the next decade.
